Here's the thing about Voyager. It's not the perfect Star Trek series by a longshot, but it isn't as bad as people make it out to be either. It really started when a few online reviewers (SFDebris) started dogging it like it was complete trash, and everyone else fell in line like sheep. The funny thing is, if it was so bad it wouldn't have gone for season seasons. In fact when looking at pure ratings, it's the most successful Star Trek show, topping even The Next Generation.
Now I agree Voyager could have been better and that some decisions they made are strange, but it's nowhere in the league of Enterprise bad, and it certainly wasn't the downfall of Star Trek. It was on air during the golden era. With DS9 on, Voyager, and the TNG movies, Star Trek was at it's highest. Voyager also did epic TV movies along with two parters, the others didn't.
When DS9 was on the air it wasn't nearly as popular as it was in syndication. TNG struggled it's first 3 years to find an audience and it wasn't until a cliffhanger in "est of Both Worlds" that got peoples attention. TOS, TNG, and DS9 also had a lot of wtf moments, as well. And all the Janeway haters get on her for being domineering and stupid, but ignore the same qualities that Kirk showed in TOS. So its really quite frustrating to me as a Star Trek fan. Is Neelix worse than Rom? Fuck no.
So that's my stand on Voyager.
(Since this is a Voyager group, it's a safe bet you all agree with me... lol)

Star Trek Blasphemy!
YTcyberpunk posts far more that her fair share of blog entries for this club. It's true, I love to hear myself talk. But peeps, we could use more discussion, ya dig? Balance the scale by adding your own thoughts. Or don't. (I just feel like I'm rambling too much, and misery loves company...)
SO.
Blasphemy.
Some might argue that we are committing "Star Trek Blasphemy" right now, just by having a group that praises one of the "lesser" Star Treks. By harboring fan art that shows Neelix in a positive light. By having Trek yaoi that doesn't involve Kirk on Spock. But who's to say what is the best or worst series, the best character, best seaso
Character Ramblings...
For no particular reason, YT will now ramble nonstop about the characters on “Star Trek: Voyager.” Various “Star Trek” magazines like to assign “best episodes” to each character. I’ll do that, but also—just to make things interesting—throw in “worst episodes.” Most of them have at least one, even the best characters. Hey, in seven years, you’ll have a few stinkers. I’ll also yap about what I think they did best with each character, and what I think they could have done better.
Let the nerd rage begin!

Endgame
Last night, I saw the final episode of Voyager for the very first time! After I heard the final phrase of the entire series, "set a course--for home", I got to thinking that the writers couldahv done more to make the finale a true ending. Sure, Seven and Chakotay didn't die, and Voyager came home "early", but therecould have been more to it. Take the first scene of Endgame, for instance. Fireworks, the Golden Gate Bridge, and a shot of Voyager about to land. I, as the viewer, got a true sense of ending when I saw that, but not when I saw the whole fleet of ships escorting Voyager to Earth. Maybe if the writers could have done what they did in
